I have never had a friend come over to scrapbook or craft. This weekend I was lucky enough to have my friend Julie come over. We were inspired a cute flag we saw on
How Does She and you can check it out here.
(Look how cute it looks sitting on my mantle!) We put our own spin on it because we wanted them to look more vintage with darker colors. They are pretty easy to make. You can check out the tutorial on HowDoesShe, but after getting the measurements for the blocks, we pretty much winged it! Julie was sweet enough to have her hubby precut the wood for us and she stained it before coming over. After choosing which papers we wanted to use, we measured and cut them out. I let Julie do all the cutting since she brought her handy dandy Centipede paper trimmer! LOL! (I need one of these, by the way!)
Then we took them outside to adhere the paper with some Modge Podge Acrylic sealer, but guess what? They didn't totally stick, so I think this spray is just for sealing and not for the whole Modge Podge process! But it's all good, we just got out the regular Modge Podge and doctored it up! I LOVE the way it turned out! What do you think?
i love that site and your flag looks great on your fireplace:)
